2017 Food Fair

[SCIE web news, Oct 27th, 2017] The 2017 Food Fair was held on October 24th, and as before, there was already active organizers from the Parents Committee, before the Food Fair actually began, delicate ingredients were already prepared in advance in every corner of the campus. Teachers from every departments are also bus setting up cooking equipment.

 

In fact, as early as three weeks before the actual Food Fair, many students have found near dormitory building, one of the corner - there is a bottle of salted lemon awaited! Also, there are many students early on began to prepare their own masterpiece dish. Enough to see, SCIEs Food Fair is so making people yearning!

 

Like every culture has its heritage, SCIE Food festival also has its own traditions, such as the fermented rice meatballs, dumplings, cold steamed rice noodles, Indian curry, British style chicken soup and so on, and so on global food. Unfortunately, this year at the Feast of Food Fair, we did not see Ashmores Spanish fruit juice Sangeria.

 

This years new-coming Wonton Soup in Hot and Spicy Sauce, and Wuhan hot noodles and Cheung Chau Island big fish eggs and Martin's popular vegetable soup! This year the Australian team's kangaroo meat sandwiches still lead, early on from the beginning of Food Fair at16:35, a long queue has dragged from the dance room doorway to the security room.

 

Even in such a small campus, people can enjoy the food from all over the world, and a wide range of food, including desserts, pasta, beverages, snacks, soup ... What is special is that Department of Propaganda from Student Union designed a series of souvenir based around the theme Food Fair, including the lovely food passport, environmentally-friendly canvas bags printed with Food Fair logos.

 

The most noteworthy thing is that the environmental protective organizations MOPO and Greeny Brian continue to seamlessly connect the concept of environmental protection to the current Food Festival, after a series of research and preparation, Food Fair this year almost reached the goal of no one-time tableware: teachers and students have a green tableware to eat all of the delicious food from all over the world. After eating enough and drinking, there is no trace of rubbish left on the beautiful campus. This is also fully reflected in the classification bins prepared by MOPO.

 

As darkness fell, the climax of Food Fair, The Food Fight- the eating competition came to the stage, and different from the traditional one, which tried to load eaters stomachs with all kinds of food, it had a great various of fancy PK games. So, the champion who won all the battles, achieved the honor of Chihuo without any doubts. The yummy food we made, and the happy moments we shared together, has become an enjoyable memory of our lives, as it would be always reminding us the joy of it.

 

The reason of why SCIE Food Fair was called as Charity Food Fair was that we donated every income from our food stalls to the charity organizations, to help others in need, which has always been a spirit of SCIEer, a core virtue of human kindness.

 

In the efforts of all teachers and students and parents, the 2017 food festival is held perfectly!
