SCIE is a member school of the Council of International School (CIS). CIS is a global non-profit membership organization. Its core services are International School Accreditation, Educational Recruitment and Leadership Search for schools, and Higher Education Services that facilitate linkages between schools and colleges and universities. This recognition signifies that the school has completed a comprehensive self-study and international peer review as part of a continuous improvement process focusing on standards and indicators that promote the development of student knowledge, skills, attributes and actions aligned with the CIS Definition of Global Citizenship. CIS International Accreditation is recognized by the National Association of Independent Schools (USA), and by many government and non-government agencies around the world.
Western Association of Schools and Colleges （WASC）
SCIE received notice that we have achieved accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in August, 2021. SCIE joins forty-four other accredited schools and 14 candidate schools in China as listed in WASC’s Directory of Schools.
The Accrediting Commission for Schools, which is part of WASC, is world-renowned accrediting association based in Burlingame, California, USA. They extend services to over 5000 schools worldwide and work with 20 associations in joint accreditation processes, including the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the International Baccalaureate（IB）.
Cambridge International and Edexcel
SCIE is a centre for Cambridge International and Edexel. Students take the “Global College Entrance Exam” on campus.
For 16 years, SCIE has endeavored to perfect the delivery of IGCSE and A Level courses to local Chinese students. Along the way, we have built up a tried-and-tested infrastructure and a highly professional and dedicated team of teachers and administrators. Our dedication and efforts have resulted in excellent academic outcomes.
All SCIE students can take CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL – authorized and EDEXCEL – authorized examinations on campus and receive academic certificates issued directly from CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL and EDEXCE. These results are recognized by universities and colleges in about 160 countries and districts around the world.
Universities and Colleges Admissions Service
SCIE is a registered member school of Universities and Colleges Admission Service.
All SCIE graduates enjoy the same rights and privileges of UK Sixth Form graduates in application to all institutions of higher education in the UK as well as more than 160 other countries and districts around the world, including the US, Canada, Australia, the EU, and Hong Kong, etc. SCIE university and Career Center provides all necessary services to our seniors during their university applications.
The College Board and AP Courses
As a member of College Board, SCIE enjoys many benefits such as appointing delegates to vote on College Board governance issues, serve on national councils and committees, and inform the future of College Board programs and services. At this platform, SCIE connects directly with education leaders at more 6000 member organizations from our region and around the world through the comprehensive membership directory. Members can also receive a special rate to attend training on topics including financial aid, curriculum development and instruction, and college counseling.
According to the statistics, 40% SCIE graduates chose US universities these years. After 3 years’ preparation and faculty training, SCIE provided College Board-audited AP courses from 2016.
East Asia Regional Council of School
EARCOS – East Asia Regional Council of School is an organization of 149 member schools in East Asia. The EARCOS organization serves to promote cooperation and communication among its Members, to advance the professional growth of schools and individuals and to broaden and enrich the educational opportunities of the students they serve. EARCOS plays a prominent leadership role throughout the global educational community. SCIE is also a member school of EARCOS.
FOBISIA
FOBISIA is a regional Federation of the leading British international school in Asia. As an organization, it maintains stringent entry standards for all schools, and requires an ongoing commitment to excellence and inspection or accreditation by recognized external agencies. FOBISIA Schools offer events for students to have an overseas experience or events where students may participate online. Internal or external Professional Development providers share best practice within FOBISIA member schools. FOBISIA reducts regular CPD, Business and Networking opportunities through Meetings and conferencing. Head teachers, business managers, leaders of music and many other staff can meet throughout the academic year. SCIE has already joined FOBISIA, and delivered a professional training for its member school in 2017.
