At SCIE, we have a special team of Peer Supporters…

To SCIE students, ‘Peer Support Division’ must come to their ears as the name of a familiar friend.  When SCIE students come across obstacles, they have more than just teachers, counsellors, and  tutors, they also have a team of peer supporters from the SCIE Student Leadership Body, all working together to construct a safe, close-knit community to guide them to challenge their limits.

Many of our teachers and friends may recognise us, from posters and events, as the team of students embodying the ‘Milk Dragon’!

We are a team of enthusiastic, motivated, passionate students, from all year levels, G1, G2, A1, and  A2, who see taking care of and providing support to our peers as our interests. We come together as a creative, positive, strong team striving towards our shared goals:

1. To connect all peers of the SCIE community

2. To support students in sharing academic knowledge

3. To guide students to develop a growing, positive mindset

You may have first heard of us even before you came to SCIE, when you read our guides on how to ‘survive’ at SCIE to learn about this new environment. We may have even chatted online, too! (Guide for 2025 new SCIErs is coming soon~)

Friends new to our school this year, may remember the gift packets we gave you! Our first project of the year was to pack these gifts to our new students! Hopefully these tools helped you through the stressful times in joining our community.

Our new A1 friends, it must have been frightening to join a new environment so late into high school. 30 of these new friends were helped by our supporters! We hope our supporters guided you to feeling stronger in becoming a part of the SCIE family, helping you understand our culture, preparing for examinations and applications.

Peer Support Division is Launching the A1 Integration Program!

You may remember us from Mental Health Week, where we shared many happy memories at the drawing wall, mood shredder, label tearing ,hugging t-shirt, and plant therapy!

You may also have seen some of our posters around the school. You may have joined our Peer Tutoring and Peer Mentoring programs. This year, over 300 students participated in the Peer Tutoring program, sharing and exploring academic knowledge and resources. 8 students enrolled as our peer mentors, in support to the wellbeing of our peers. We hope that these platforms were great assets to your studies and wellbeing.

Some of our G1 and G2 friends were lucky enough to join our Leadership Enrichment Program. It is the first ever student-created, student-led, student-taught curriculum program at SCIE. Nearly 30 students benefited from our pilot programs this semester. We hope that the experiences shared by seniors helped to better prepare you for the next stages of your life.

Our graduating A2 students, university applications must have been tiring and challenging. A small slip may be sending you on the path to an even better result, to an even better life. Please always remember, ‘rejection is redirection’.

We grew a lot together this year, as Peer Support Division 2024-2025. We have progressed into a significant part of student life at SCIE. As a team, we made great advancements in our long-term visions and goals in the peer education, peer wellbeing, and peer connection areas of supporting our peers, introducing many new programs.

Thanks to the determination of every one of our peer supporters, we continued to make  improvements to the services we provide, enhancing them through repeated experiment, trial, and reflection.

We shared many happy memories, took on many challenges, and grew together. All of that was facilitated by the tight bonds between all of us, through our mutual passion and motivation. That tight bond developed from partnership, to friendship.

None of this could have been possible without an awesome team of peer supporters and student leaders. A giant thank you to everyone who made this possible! You are all wonderful!

We are not alone in supporting our peers, too. We as the Peer Support Division are not the only peer supporters. Our programs were supported by many dedicated students, including our nearly 70 peer tutors an peer mentors and other divisions of the SLB. All SCIErs are supporters to each other, all happy to extend a helping hand to their peers. We as the Peer Support Division guide and encourage our peers to supporting each other, to amplify and sustain this awesome culture, for many years to come, for all SCIErs.

Our greatest gratitude to the school and Dr. Boris for their thorough guidance and staunch support to our team throughout the year, helping us perfect our plans and directing us towards a healthy, intelligent working mindset.

All the best to our new team of peer supporters, the Peer Support Division 2025-2026. All the best to all those who were in our brilliant team. Keep on our spirit of study hard, support hard, and strive to be the best!
