Patrick O’Grady

Teacher of Biology

Patrick is trained and worked as a chef before going into education and has since also qualified as a sports massage therapist and movement and mobility coach, an area in which he now works part time. He likes to use his experience in sport in the classroom to help foster the same interest in his pupils. He has been teaching for 20 years at Friends’ Quaker School N.Ireland.

Dr Alirio Melendez Romero has been iteaching for over 18 years at universities and schools in the UK, EU, Asia and LATAM. He has taught Biology at IGCSE and A-level, IBDP-Biology, AP-Biology, Biochemistry and other science subjects at high school level. He has also supervised and coordinated Cambridge IPQ and IBDP group 4 projects, and has been Head of Biology and Head of Science departments at various international schools.

Craig Vardi

Craig brings to his role as Biology Teacher, 17-years of teaching experience in the UK, South Africa and China. From teaching adults in Access to Nursing/Midwifery/Medicine (UK), to teaching Biology in private schools in South Africa, he brings much teaching experience over a range of ages to his current work. Besides teaching, Craig is a Sport-certified Dietitian, currently registered with the Medical Council of South Africa. He worked in private practice in a medical centre for a number of years, helping elite athletes optimise their diets for their respective sports. Having been a competitive athlete, combining exercise science and nutrition was fundamental to his success. Being a mature teacher, Craig has also worked in different life sectors, from the food industry to the army, and all this knowledge and skills he brings to his teaching of Biology at SCIE.

Reza Mansournia

With over nine years of teaching experience, Dr. Reza has been an International Baccalaureate (IB) trained teacher specializing in Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) along with AP Biology. His international teaching career spans two years in Malaysia and seven years in China. In addition to extensive IB and AP teaching experience, he also spent three years teaching college students at the University of Iran. Dr. Reza’s diverse educational background and extensive teaching experience have equipped him with a unique blend of expertise in both Biology and Educational Technology. He is committed to fostering a deep understanding of biological concepts and promoting scientific inquiry among students.
