  2. Except for the traditional compulsory subjects, the specialist students in G Level should study one more core subject: art/music. The period of the specialist (Art/ Music) subject will be doubled for the specialist student. Art and music students will be supported by the faculty staff for all of their years during their study at SCIE.
  3. In G-level, specialist students must study English, Mathematics, Chinese, PE, Combined Science or Chemistry (1 out of 2), and other 2 options.
  4. IGCSE specialist students would learn 2-year IGCSE mathematics or the regular Maths course that most G1 students had taken.
  5. In principle, specialist Academy students are not allowed to transfer to the traditional stream. But if specialist students want to apply, they should send the transfer application after finishing the year of G2. The specialist students who want to transfer to traditional stream need to fulfil the following conditions:
  •  There is a vacancy available in related subjects.
  •  Pass the subject entry test.

For appropriate optional subjects’ selection, students can ask suggestions from arts academy staff and UCO.

Notice: Candidates who haven’t decided their pathway can apply as a traditional stream student and choose art/music subject as an option (traditional CAIE art/music class).

There would be only one round of entry test for the specialist students in 2025. If a student doesn’t pass the specialist test, they may apply for the second round of entry test on May 25th of 2025, through the traditional stream.
