English as a Bridge to a Wider World

English is more than a tool for acquiring knowledge. It is also essential for expressing ideas, engaging in international communication and collaborating across cultures.

SCIE’s teachers come from all over the world, with international teachers making up over 70% of the faculty. Apart from Chinese language classes, all other lessons are delivered entirely in English. This means that what SCIE students gain is not only language proficiency, but also the habit of thinking from an international perspective.

Beyond the classroom, English is also used in teacher-student interactions, group collaboration and various campus activities. Through reading, thinking, discussion and expression, students continue to strengthen their ability to use English in practice.

Developing Language Skills Through Practice

IELTS assesses English proficiency across four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, with a focus on candidates’ ability to communicate and use the language effectively.

For SCIE students, strong English proficiency provides a solid foundation for university-level study and international communication. Having learned alongside teachers from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, students become familiar with a variety of accents and perspectives, enabling them to approach academic discussions, adapt to new environments and navigate university life with greater confidence.

SCIE remains committed to developing students’ overall English proficiency, helping them strengthen their language skills through learning and practice and preparing them for future university studies and international communication.
