Action in the world stems from independent individuals. Independent individuals can connect with each other through action, forging change in society. From personal goals and ideas to engagement and understanding within the community, everything begins with that phrase—global citizen.
I am truly honored to represent SCIE in receiving this award for 2025, and I hope to see more and more students participating in global actions!

Introduction to the Global Citizen Award
The Global Citizen Award recognizes not only achievement but also an acknowledgment—it acknowledges participants who are willing to engage with different cultures, understand diverse groups, and care about societal challenges. This award is more like a testament to your process of expanding your perspective from yourself to the local community and even society, turning inner ideas into impact and change within the community.
It encompasses many aspects.
Core attributes: your exposure to different cultures, your efforts toward major global goals, and your contributions to the community.
Specialism: your understanding of language communication for exchanging ideas; your leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; and the extent of your involvement in an activity.
Skills and strengths: your public speaking, goal-setting, implementation of sustainable development, and more.
Of course, the Global Citizen Award is not limited to these aspects alone. It also includes your determination to implement change and your resolve to break through barriers.
Becoming a part of the global citizenry proves that you are eager to help others, promote cross-cultural understanding, improve the environment, and, moreover, embrace and inspire participation.
Reasons for Participating in the Global Citizen Award Program
My reason for participating in the Global Citizen Award program stems from my desire to help more people, to listen to those whose voices go unheard, and to answer their calls. Those things that seem impossible often remain so because we don’t believe we can achieve them. So, I wanted to break through the impossible and reach for that impossibility for those in need.
This decision acts more like a pillar pushing me forward. It provides me with a platform to transform my small personal breakthroughs into a platform for social impact. This can help more people recognize the importance of caring for the community, and also allow me to gain feedback from different locations in the world. It gives me the motivation to connect with diverse groups and provides that passionate inspiration.
Activities and Gains
From a surrealistic self-portrait in middle school, my ideas broke free from ordinary expectations. That creativity drove me to push boundaries. I realized that even the most imaginative ideas can become reality.
Then there was breaking my personal record in the 1000-meter run. Many times, I thought it was impossible, but trying is always worthwhile. And it’s not just about trying—we need long-term persistence and improvement to achieve the goals we set. When difficulties stand in your way, have the courage to face them and overcome them. These small things reflect the spirit required to become a global citizen.

Each and every one of these instances marks a footprint and milestone on my journey to becoming a global citizen. Each one has brought me growth in both ability and psychology, gradually helping me understand the mindset of a global citizen.
In the future, I am willing to continue what I am doing and expand these small contributions, encouraging more people to join and become part of the global citizenry.
The Global Citizen Program Platform at School
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Angelien, who introduced this program to our grade on the first day of school. She provided me with immense help throughout the process, patiently answering any questions I had.
Our school platform also has a very convenient Moodle system for recording our reflections. These reflections are like a diary, documenting and reflecting on everything I do. Through teachers’ feedback, I can also gain insights from others’ perspectives on whether my contributions have truly made an impact.
I hope everyone will also try to break through their limits in the future and join the team of global citizens! Work hard for what you love, and let’s make a change together!
