- Diverse Academic Interests and Expanding Horizons
The Class of 2026 continues to expand its range of academic disciplines, showing a strong balance between the humanities and sciences, along with growing interdisciplinary exploration.
STEM and Engineering
SCIE students continued to demonstrate strong performance in traditional STEM disciplines, with outstanding admissions results in fields such as Natural Sciences and Engineering at Oxford and Cambridge. Tianna was admitted to Harvey Mudd College — often referred to as the “MIT among liberal arts colleges” — for Biological/Chemistry. In addition, three students received offers from the prestigious US engineering institution Georgia Institute of Technology.
In recent years, Engineering has remained one of the most competitive and sought-after fields of study, and SCIE students achieved particularly impressive results in this area. At Imperial College London, 7 students received offers in Electronic and Information Engineering, while 5 students gained admission to Design Engineering. In the United States, Dora received an offer in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, and Richard was admitted to Northwestern University for Materials Science and Engineering.
Meanwhile, more students are pursuing cutting-edge and interdisciplinary fields such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. Yinlong and Helen received offers for Computer Science at Cambridge, while Evan gained admission to Imperial College London for Computing (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning). Sam was admitted to Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and also received an offer for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at HKU. Likewise, at HKUST, SCIE students achieved excellent results in Computer Science and Engineering, as well as Electronic and Computer Engineering.
Economics and Business
SCIE students demonstrated strong competitiveness not only in traditional disciplines such as Economics and Finance, but also in interdisciplinary areas, including Quantitative Analysis and Business Analytics.
Leading universities in the United States, including the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, UCLA and USC, extended offers to SCIE students in Economics and Business-related programs. Students also secured offers in Quantitative Finance at HKUST, Economics and Economics & Finance at HKU, and Economics at CUHK, once again demonstrating their strong academic caliber in economics and business-related fields.
Humanities and Social Sciences
Highly competitive and interdisciplinary fields such as Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE), Law, Philosophy, Psychology, and International Relations were strongly represented among this year’s offers. Freya will attend Cornell University’s world-renowned Nolan School of Hotel Administration. In Columbia University’s dual degree programs, Mavis received admission in Geography and Earth Sciences, while Angela was admitted to the Sciences Po–Columbia University dual degree program, prestigious for International Relations and Social Sciences programs. With the successful applications of the first graduating cohort from SCIE’s Arts Academy to leading global art schools, SCIE students are continuing to expand their presence across the arts.
Admission is never a simple outcome, but a long journey of anticipation and self-discovery. At SCIE, every student’s individuality and choice are respected, allowing them to explore diverse pathways and find the direction that is truly their own.
Beyond academic results lies meaningful growth; beyond university offers lies a broader journey ahead. At SCIE, holistic education is not a slogan, but a lived practice—one that takes root in everyday learning and gradually shapes students over time.
We look forward to the Class of 2026 stepping onto even broader stages, continuing to pursue their passions, and writing the next chapter of their own journeys with confidence and purpose.
