SCIE Graduation Ceremony|SELT Graduation Speech

Clement:

Good evening, distinguished guests, dedicated faculty, proud parents, and fellow graduates. Today is a day of immense joy and celebration, and as we stand on the brink of a new chapter in our lives, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible journey we have embarked upon within the past four years at SCIE that has brought us here. As we gather here to mark the culmination of our high school journey, I am filled with gratitude and pride. We stand at the threshold of a new chapter in our lives, ready to take on the world with the knowledge, skills, and friendships we’ve gained over the past years. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the hard work, perseverance, and support that have brought us to this significant milestone. Today, we celebrate the graduation of SCIE Class of 2024.

James:

Reflecting on the memories we have created and the achievements we have accomplished, we are filled with immense pride for our collective journey.

When we first stepped foot into this campus, we were wide-eyed teenagers, unsure of what awaited us and full of dreams, aspirations, and untapped potential. Now, as we stand on the precipice of the future, we have transformed into a powerhouse of talent, resilience, and determination.

Throughout our time together, we have celebrated triumphs and weathered challenges. The majority of us were the first users of the new Antuoshan Campus. We spent the first two years of our high school in the shadow of a global pandemic. However, we quickly adapted and successfully overcame all the difficulties, excelling not only in academics but in every other field including art, sports, community service, and so on. We grew together with SCIE, whose 20th birthday we celebrated together last October with the proud gifts of our accomplishments.

Dora:

Over the past four years at SCIE, we’ve each found a home within the diverse communities that make our school special. It’s in those moments of finding a study partner who helps you solve difficult math problems, or having late-night conversations with roommates that seem to go on endlessly. It’s shouting our house slogan with pride at house events, the thrill of achieving a championship in the basketball leagues with teammates, and the creativity and collaboration of being part of the organizing team for the fashion show.

These experiences are just a glimpse of the vibrant communities we’ve been a part of. There’s also the joy of meeting a soulmate through an ECA, the excitement of stepping onto the SGT stage for a performance, and the camaraderie of going through a tough competition with a friend, each of us pushing and supporting each other to reach our best. These diverse experiences have not only provided us with knowledge and skills but have also given us lasting friendships and a sense of belonging at SCIE.

These cherished memories remind us of the strength we gain from community, the importance of collaboration, and the joy of shared achievements. Here’s to the unforgettable journey we’ve shared at SCIE and the bright futures that lie ahead for each of us.

Angela:

We have gained so much and learned so much. I want to tell all the parents here, the parents watching from afar, and all our teachers that we have grown, right here in this campus. It might be hard to believe, but the 485 graduates gathered here today from Shenzhen College of International Education will be scattered across various countries and universities around the world in just three months. We will continue to grow, meet new people, encounter new experiences, and discover new potentials within ourselves.

By the time we graduate again, some of us might be deeply involved in academic research, some might have started their careers, and others might be pursuing their dreams. But what I want to say is that I hope we all remember who we are and the foundation that has been laid for us here at SCIE.

Let’s hold on to the spirit of curiosity, resilience, and integrity that this institution represents. Let’s move forward, but also remember to give back to the community, to be kind and compassionate, and to use our talents and education to make a positive impact on the world. Finally, I wish all teachers and parents here good health and the fulfillment of their own aspirations.
