Studying in the UK: Beyond Oxford and Cambridge
In October 2024, The Telegraph published its global ranking of high schools based on official 2023 admission data from the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. SCIE once again placed among the top 20 schools worldwide with the highest Oxbridge admission rates—No.1 in China and No.3 globally outside the UK.
The United Kingdom is home to some of the world’s most renowned and historic universities, known for their academic excellence, pioneering research, and strong connections with global industry leaders. Its long-standing tradition of high-quality education continues to make the UK one of the most sought-after destinations for international study.
Since SCIE’s founding, all 4,381 graduates have received offers from leading universities worldwide. Among them, 2,257 students have been admitted to top UK institutions, including 147 to the University of Oxford, 229 to the University of Cambridge, 349 to Imperial College London, 235 to the London School of Economics, and 484 to University College London.

US: A Prairie of Flowers in Full Bloom
SCIE has made continuous efforts to align the British A-Level curriculum with the expectations of U.S. university admissions. Over the past 21 graduating cohorts, 1,438 students have been admitted to universities in the United States. Among them, 1,193 enrolled in renowned national universities, 154 chose distinguished liberal arts colleges, and 91 pursued art or music at top U.S. arts institutions.
SCIE graduates have gone on to study at the world’s leading universities, including Stanford University, the University of Chicago, the California Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, and Cornell University. Many have opted for prestigious liberal arts colleges such as Swarthmore College, Wellesley College, Pomona College, and Carleton College. Others chose acclaimed arts institutions, including the Berklee College of Music, Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons School of Design, ArtCenter College of Design, and Cooper Union, demonstrating the remarkable breadth of our students’ aspirations and talents.
In recent years, SCIE students have gained admission to top Ivy League universities such as Harvard and Yale. Supported by a comprehensive academic system, an increasingly diversified curriculum, and a vibrant campus environment, SCIE students continue to achieve outstanding results in U.S. university applications.

Cross the Shenzhen River to Go to Top Universities in HK
The universities in Hong Kong—such as HKU, CUHK, and HKUST—are globally renowned institutions known for their academic excellence and highly competitive admissions. SCIE students benefit from a unique advantage: they can apply directly to Hong Kong universities using their A-Level or AP results, while simultaneously submitting applications to institutions in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. With tuition fees significantly lower than those of most European and American universities, and with Hong Kong’s close cultural and geographic proximity to Shenzhen, studying in Hong Kong offers students an international experience without distancing them from family and community.
Each year, SCIE students often face the pleasant challenge of choosing between Hong Kong’s top universities and prestigious institutions overseas. In 2025, SCIE students received nearly 100 offers from the top three universities in Hong Kong, with 32 ultimately deciding to enrol. One student reflected on his decision: “I turned down the HK offer even though it was a good school. It just felt too close to home. Since I planned to study abroad, I thought I might as well explore a place farther away.”
Still, studying in Hong Kong presents undeniable advantages and exceptional opportunities. To date, 254 SCIE graduates have chosen to pursue their education along the Xiangjiang River, enjoying both world-class academics and the iconic sunsets over Victoria Harbour.

SCIE Talents are All Over the World
Western universities are generally well-funded and well-equipped, enabling them to offer a wide range of academic disciplines. Many operate at the forefront of global innovation, engaging with cutting-edge technologies and emerging fields that may not yet be available in China. Their educational philosophies and teaching methods are often more practice-oriented, and beyond academics, Chinese students benefit greatly from experiencing diverse value systems, cultures, and social structures.
In recent years, SCIE students have shown growing interest in destinations beyond the UK and the US. To date, 261 graduates have chosen to study in Canada, attending leading institutions such as the University of Toronto and McGill University. 102 students have continued their studies in Australia, joining universities including the University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney. 25 students have enrolled at the prestigious Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, while others have pursued opportunities in Japan, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and various other regions around the world.
This expanding diversity of destinations reflects both the global outlook of SCIE students and the broad recognition of their academic excellence.
