Cambridge PD Event at SCIE

We attended a two-day face-to-face introductory training with CAIE in April. The training mainly concerns the IGCSE 2023-2025 syllabus, in terms of what is on the syllabus, how students are assessed, teaching and learning strategies, marking principles, and teacher resources. There are several great takeaways we would like to share with different departments.

USEFUL CAMBRIDGE RESOURCES AND LINKS

The School Support Hub website offers a wide range of materials that can help us enhance our teaching methods and provide better support for our students.

From student study guide to papers with MS, examiner reports, and review checklists, there is something for everyone.

The Cambridge course I attended was an introductory program for IGCSE chemistry. I found the training to be very helpful. I learned the structure of the test, how to grade test papers, what students can and cannot do on the exam paper, etc. The communication I had with the examiners was very pleasant as well. We had hands-on activities with lab work, we also planned lessons based on the syllabus, all are extremely valuable for my professional development.

Note: The materials might be different depending on the subject you choose.

I highly encourage you to take some time to explore these resources and see how they can benefit you and your students. The website is very user-friendly and easy to navigate, so you won’t have any trouble accessing the materials.
