On January 24, 2024, the University of Cambridge released its admission results. As of now, among the graduating class of 2024 at SCIE, 32 students have received preliminary acceptance offers from the University of Cambridge. Additionally, 16 students had previously received offers from the University of Oxford. Thus, the graduating class of 2024 at SCIE has garnered a total of 48 offers from Oxford and Cambridge.

The admitted students from SCIE to the University of Cambridge this year have diverse academic interests. The natural sciences, particularly economics, mathematics, engineering, and the physical sciences, continue to be strong, constituting the highest percentage. The humanities have achieved remarkable success this year, with admissions in disciplines such as geography, education, linguistics, history, and art. Furthermore, James He has been admitted to the philosophy program, and Ashley Wang has secured a place in the HSPS (Human, Social, and Political Sciences) program. The admission numbers for these two programs at Cambridge are typically limited to five individuals from China.

Congratulations to every student who has been accepted to Oxford or Cambridge! Your dedicated pursuit of academic excellence and rigorous performance in the demanding interviews have allowed your dreams to blossom at the world’s top-tier academic institutions.

Similarly, every student who has received offers from other universities deserves applause. As expressed by Shenzhen International Exchange School alumna Mary Liu before the Cambridge admission results were announced: “Each of us, ultimately, is set to embark on a journey. We will navigate our own ships, avoiding the various shallows and reefs in the river of life, until the day we arrive at the other shore, weary but triumphant.”
