The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards is a series of accolades selected by the Cambridge Assessment International Education. These awards aim to better encourage and recognize students from around the world who have achieved outstanding results in Cambridge International Examinations.
In the recently announced awards list released by CAIE, 32 students from SCIE received Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards accounting for one-quarter of the total awardees nationwide (121 individuals).
Among them, 12 students won the “Top in the World”, 14 students won the “Top in China”, and 6 students won the “High Achievement”.
Since the establishment of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards system in 2008, SCIE has consistently held the top national position for 16 consecutive years, with the exception of 2020 when international exams were canceled due to the pandemic. Over this 16-year period, SCIE students have garnered 142 “Top in the World” and 237 “Top in China” across various subjects, resulting in a total of 379 recipients.
In the 2023 awards, SCIE students continued to demonstrate excellence in mathematics, maintaining their dominant stance in this traditional discipline. This strong foundation enables them to excel in international assessments. Additionally, commendable results were achieved in English and other language-related subjects, underscoring the language proficiency and cross-cultural learning abilities of SCIE students.
Moreover, it is noteworthy and exciting to mention that students from SCIE delivered exceptional performances in the humanities and social sciences this year. Both Economics and Geography secured “Top in the World” and “Top in China” , while subjects such as Psychology, Sociology, History, and English Literature also received “Top in China” honors.
