My Internship experience: Part 2
2018-03-04

[SCIE web news, March 5th, 2018]I am 2016er graduate Daniel Liu. I’m now a student in Emory University. By sharing my stories in the US and some of my personal thoughts, I hope to give you an insight into what student life here is really like. This can also act as a guidance for your future college choice.

In my last article, I introduced some of my regular works during the internship. Besides myself, BSG also has other interns. In my marketing department, there’s five other interns. Whenever there comes a new intern, other than training them, BSG would also take them to a factory tour. I participated the tour at the second week of my internship.

The factory locates right next to the office. It is responsible for producing all the golf balls in South and North America market. We had to wear protective goggles before entering the factory. It was huge inside. All different kinds of robber are mixed based on different ratio. These robbers are then compressed into balls. Every process will have specific machine to check their quality. Disqualified ones will be remade, and qualified ones will be sent to the packaging workers. Workers in the factory work three to four days per week, 12 hours per day. I spent about 50 minutes visiting the factory. After that, they took me to the test site, where they test the finished golf balls.

Even though I haven’t been working in BSG for a long time yet, my superiors still value my work. The analysis of the survey result finished by me would be sent to the company’s headquarter in Japan. My boss joked to me that I would be in great trouble if people in Japan don’t like my report.

I enjoy working here and would share more about my work in the future!
