Senior Week: The last revelry of A2 students
2018-05-02

[SCIE web news, May 2nd, 2018] Last week was the last week of school for A2, A1 and G2 students in this semester, and it was also the final week in A2 students’ 4-year high school life. In order to leave some good memories to the graduating A2 students, the Prefect team has not only continued the traditional fun activities such as letters delivery, campus singing, flash mob, but also developed some new ideas, for example, a self-made cinema and so on.

Early on the Monday morning, A2 students got together on the marble stage, wearing House clothes, waiting to take some group photos and individual graduation photos. Everyone was so excited, but also felt a little bit hesitated in their heart, because they didn’t want to say good bye yet.

On Tuesday, we extended our ‘Pajama Day’ into ‘Costume Day’, giving people more space to dress up. Some students continued the tradition and went to school with their pajamas, some students wore the high school uniforms of Shenzhen, Zhuhai or JK, to recollect the memory of the past. Unfortunately, on the same day, ‘Give me a Hug Day’(Hugging Day) was not held successfully due to the rainy weather, but students were still enjoying themselves in the process of taking photos with everyone.

On Tuesday night, the self-study room (109) was equipped with a stereo and a projector, converting into a small cinema. A2 students moved the desks away and brought some chairs, turned off the lights, and watched the horror movie ‘The Conjuring 2’ projected onto the wall. During the movie, the fluctuated screams split the air, making the atmosphere much tenser. After this movie, many students were still unsatisfied and wished to have more. So on the Wednesday night, the ‘homemade’ cinema of room 109 opened again. A clueless comedy ‘Miss White’ and another classic horror firm ‘the Shining’ have been put on to the ‘screen’.

On Wednesday afternoon, it came to our ‘water polo war’, expected by lots of students. Just after school, people started to ‘equip’ themselves with their own water polo, squirt gun, backpack water gun and other ‘weapons’, filling with water. When the ‘war’ became more and more fierce, many students in junior grades also came to join the intense ‘water fight’. Some even splashed water over each other by filling buckets and basins with water, just like celebrating the water-sprinkling festival. there was also a special ‘water skiing competition’ which created by students on the marble stage. they were playing, ‘swimming’, ‘skiing’, making everyone laugh and enjoy their funny shows.

On Thursday, the pavilion next to the tortoise pond was decorated with colorful lights, foretelling one of the most important activities in the Senior Week: Singing in the Campus (Han Lou). Everyone brandished the fluorescent sticks together, singing the songs which commemorated their youth. Some used the fluorescent stick to write on the ground. It was so touching that everyone seemed to be moved to tears.  After the chorus, we were lining up, and running around together like a train, from the teaching building to the basketball court, with the childhood classic songs on. We played some small funny games in the court and took group photos together, marking this nosiy night as an incredible memory to all of us.

On the last day of the Senior Week, all A2 students performed the superman dance for the last time during the flash mob. Some had to accept the destiny of being thrown into the tortoise pond. We were playing and laughing, taking photos together, trying our best to keep all these wonderful memories in our hearts. After the flag-lowing ceremony, all A2 students put on the bachelor’s suits, to make another group photos together at the last time in school, marking the end of their high school life in SCIE, as the graduating class of 2018.
