SCIErs Won the National First Place of FBLA

2022-2023 FBLA Economics Finals in China officially closed on March 26, 2023, SCIE students obtain numerous successful results. Three students won the national first and second place in Economics Grand Test, respectively,

  • which all successfully advanced to the FBLA NLC Global Finals,
  • Three teams obtained National Top 10 in Team Events,
  • Twenty-nine individuals National Top 10 in individual open events,

FBLA Introduction

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), founded in 1937, is one of the leading Business leadership student education organizations in the United States, dedicated to the development of future business Leaders in Business and Business-related fields.

With more than 6,400 member schools and more than 250,000 student members in 47 states, Canada, China, Europe, Central and South America, FBLA is the largest student organization and business education organization in the United States. The program is recommended by the U.S. Congress’ mandated education program and the American Association of Secondary School Principals, and is officially funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Past students have been accepted by many prestigious universities, such as Princeton University, Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, etc. The competition is a necessary business and economic academic practice activity for international high schools, which is compatible with the international curriculum.

FBLA China is the authorized coordinating office of FBLA in China. Since 2015, FBLA China has been operating activities in China and helping schools establish and manage Chapters of FBLA official certification.

FBLA Experience

FBLA has always been committed to transforming business education into a practical activity and career development program through innovative forms, providing business education and business career planning for talented young people.

At the FBLA Economics Final in the 2022-2023 academic year, several SCIE teams once again demonstrated their strength with outstanding results. SCIE student achieved outstanding performance in Economics Grand Test and many Individual Open Events.

Among them, Ruidan Fan, Chenxuan Wu and Zilong Li achieved National 1st and 2nd Place in Economics Grand Test and were qualified for the global final. Other participants, including Xinyi Huang, Lion Mao, Qianwen Zheng, Ziyi Lei, Wanru Huang, Yinger Zhang and Kashing Wang obtained National Top 10 in individual open events. Once again, congratulations to them and thanks to Allen and Bill for their great support to the competition.

1.Highest Scorer is the highest scorer/team of the event, Second Highest Scorer is the second highest scorer/team of the event.

2. Top 10 is awarded to individuals/teams who ranked at top 10 nationally.

3.Summa cum laude (Highest Distinction) is the first class, corresponding to the top 5% of the country. Magna cum laude (Great Distinction) is the second class, corresponding to the top 15% of the country.Cum laude (Distinction) is the third class, corresponding to the top 30% of the country. Excellence is the fourth class, corresponding to the top 60% of the country.

Q:What’s your feeling after participating in FBLA Economics Final?

Zilong Li: The extended reading materials strengthened my understanding about courses under the general Economics major, and the collaboration among teammates during the analysis of economic policies helped me gain new friendship. Overall, FBLA is a very unforgettable experience.

Chenxuan Wu: Participating in FBLA was a great experience, immersing in the atmosphere of the competition and at the same time enriching my knowledge. The most meaningful thing is to constantly explore and research new knowledge points in theprocess of preparing for the contest, which has given me deeper understanding of the course I love.

Qianwen Zheng: During the economic summit, not only was I able to enjoy the thrill of competing, but I was also able to acquire further knowledge about different branches of economics. The EPS presentation was especially memorable as we had to prepare an entire presentation in such a limited amount of time and answer questions from judges.


Q:Who’s the one that you want to thank the most when preparing for FBLA Economics Final?

Boyu Zhou: I would like to thank Teacher Allen for helping me prepare for the competition. She answered every question carefully. I also want to thank my parents for helping me relax during the break in the game.

Yang Hu: During the whole process, Ms. Allen and Cynthia have been responsible and guiding our competition with all their efforts, helping us to coordinate various details with the organizing committee. It is precisely because of these details that we are prepared for the competition and the details are more adequate. Moreover, Mr. Bill would also use his spare time to prepare the ppt of our exam content and explain it to us, so that we could have a better understanding of the knowledge.


Q: What tips do you have for future participants?

Ruidan Fan: FBLA has a relatively low difficult level, which makes it a fantastic entry point for students who are interested in economics competitions. By simply following the preparation guide provided by FBLA China committee, participants can prepare well and achieve a good score.
